A Walk in the Woods ????

I would definitely recommend this work by Bill Bryson, as an introductory choice if you have never had the pleasure of reading any of his books before. If you fancy taking a walk in the woods this will give you an insight into the pros and cons of buying expensive hiking gear, and the possibility of encountering bears and funny characters along the way. Bill’s stamina is outstanding; walking across 850 miles of the Appalachian trial accompanied by his reformed alcoholic friend ‘Katz’ whose miserable, childish antics will keep you laughing throughout.  A very funny read x
