As students at art college, we were asked to paint a small picture incorporating ideas and techniques that we’ve been taught throughout the year of study. After many attempts at a building I wanted to master, I kept failing miserably, so giving up I came across a photograph of this great name for a bird; and to top it all it is very pretty.
I used mixed-media, wet in wet and pen and ink, therefore using many of the techniques our tutor taught us. It is for a small exhibition in my local town centre and I painted it to fit on a postcard.
