My Art

Share my Dreams

I finished this pencil drawing today. I copied a photograph of a couple standing together and I thought it showed real emotion. It made me think of the poem written by William Butler Yeats. I read this poem a couple of years ago and I think it’s lovely. I wanted to share it with this drawing.

           Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
