Weight Loss Snacks

I’ve been losing weight for the past 5 weeks, and yesterday I stepped on the scales and lost this week another 2 lbs. So in total that’s 1 stone and 2 lbs. I feel so much better for it. My clothes are looser, I’ve dropped a dress size and my thighs no longer rub together. I haven’t followed a set diet at all, as I find the counting and weighing tiresome. All I’ve done, is changed simple things with my eating habits by having smaller portions, less carbs, more fruit, no hard cheese, high calorific biscuits, pastries and cakes.

I use fry light to cook with ( a 1 cal spay in a can), no fried food and a minimal amount of bread. No more than two slices a day, and it’s really working. I just try and imagine my cupboard without any processed crap, and if it is in there, like a tin of ham for the kids, I don’t touch it. Lean meat and chicken is fine, but none of the tinned stuff with added fat etc.

However, I’m only human and have a sweet tooth. The time of the month makes me crave sugary treats so there are times when I just need a snack.

Here are some of the food stuffs I eat for snacks that are low in calories, and fill me up. I may have one a day:

2 Ryvita crispbreads spread with 2 triangles of Laughing Cow cream cheese

Any Kellogs low fat cereal bar. The chocolate ones are nice.

A bowl of porridge with a teaspoon of sugar. This definitely fills you up.

1 or 2 bananas

Tin of peaches, or any fruit in natural juice

Go ahead yoghurt break bars, pack of two

2 weetabix with skimmed milk

2 boiled eggs with a slice of low cal bread, toasted as soldiers for dipping.

1 curly wurly chocolate bar

1 milky way chocolate bar

1 Cadburys fudge

1 Cadburys creme egg

1 Mr Kipling fondant fancy cake (These usually come in boxes of eight, and are very sweet!)

1 bag of plain popcorn

1 packet of Twiglets

1 packet of Walkers quavers

1 packet of Walkers french fries

Sugar free jelly made with diet lemonade

1 Cadburys chocolate mini roll

1 ready made meringue nest, with a little low fat squirty cream inside and strawberries on top.

We need a treat sometimes when losing weight because it is difficult. The sugar free jelly made with diet lemonade can be eaten with Gusto……if he’s around!

    Pip,

One of these days I’m going to figure out what I’m doing wrong when trying to post on someone’s blog because I know I write a response and I think I hit post — but it disappears! Ah well! I really liked this post and I need to start incorporating some of the above into my daily routine. I need to lose 50 lbs in two months! Yikes! Anyway, I’m excited for your weight lose and your dedication! You go, girl! By the way, I’ve never understood weight being measured by “stone.” For instance, listening to AC/DC singing “a whole lot of Rosie,” do you know what 19 stone amounts to in pounds? Just curious. Hi Mona. Thanks for your comment. I’m experiencing large technical issues at the moment with this blog, so you may have posting but it didn’t register. I can’t even write posts at the moment as my IP address is well and truly fucked. Driving me mad. I’m not sure about converting to pounds. A stone is 14lbs,so I always calculate by that. I need to lose another 14lbs. Dieting is hard though. Someone bought me a box of chocolates at the weekend and I’ve put them in my boys room, out of sight out of mind. X

    Pip,
I think you’re doing an amazing job with your blog, but I understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t work the way you want them to. Uhm, not to freak you out or anything, but I have to wonder whether or not Naturnicake.org is a bot. It’s the wording of the response that makes me think that. Of course, I might just not know my ass from a hole in the ground. Anyway, my tech guys says that you definitely want to have something that weeds these out–I don’t really remember why at this point. Maybe it had to do with unscrupulous types hacking into your blog and diverting traffic to their sites. Again, not positive — see comment about ass/ hole in the ground. Just thought I’d pass this along so you can check it out. However, you have reCAPTCHA, so that should have caught any bots. Anyway, keep doing what you’re doing! Glad you’re there, blog sistah!

Thanks for the great article! My hardest challenge to maintaining a healthy diet is eating out of boredom and office snacks. It’s especially hard when your office has really good and endless snacks. I’ve been trying to swap out chips for healthier options like fruits and “healthier” options like greek yogurt.

Thank you for your comment Valencia. I visit schools for my job and staffrooms are a nightmare for sweet biscuits and cakes. I see them on a daily basis.
