10 Great Websites I’ve Discovered.
Do you ever have some time to kill and you just want to sit with your cup of tea, a biscuit or 7, and search the web for interesting stuff to fill your mind as you relax. Stuff to tax your brain if you’re in the mood, or some mellow listening or maybe photos and captions to make you giggle. Here’s some of my favourites at the moment. By the way, don’t think for one moment that I am sitting on my backside all day. I do have a busy life, but I’m not a big TV watcher, so books and the Internet are just the way I roll.
In no particular order of preference, as it goes on the mood:
1..Radio Garden. Recommended by my French tutor. You rotate a globe of the world and use the interactive map to zoom in on anywhere to listen to live radio in any language you want. I love this. It’s great when you are learning a language and I regularly pick out French radio stations to listen to conversations etc. The music can be interesting too, depending on what part of the world you’re in. http://radio.garden
2..Bored Panda.Ā This website covers loads of articles, mainly photo based, that are really fun to read. There always seems to be stuff on here that makes me laugh. Examples of recent articles ‘A company that makes slippers identical to your pets’, ‘Hilarious photos showing how much Marvel Superheroes changed in 10 years’. Take a look, it’s really good! http://boredpanda.com
3..Supercook. If you need to re-stock your cupboards and can’t be bothered to go shopping, this is a great website to give you ideas/lists on what to cook with the ingredients you have left in your fridge. It’s also quite fun to pop in random food items and see what it comes up with. http://supercook.com
4..Mental Floss. Facts galore with this one, and I could spend hours on this if given the chance. A wide range of topics are covered and they are well researched and written. The main menu has sub-sections, with topics such as science, archaeology, food, languages, history, with sections such as quizzes, amazing facts, live smarter and so on. There’s just so much information and interesting stuff to read, it’s brilliant. http://Mentalfloss.com
5..A Soft Murmur. Do you like the sound of rain, the seashore, birds tweeting in a forest. This website gives you sounds to help you relax. I shut my eyes and relax listening to this, yet I imagine you could use it whilst working away, so it’s in the background. http://asoftmurmur.com
6..Smithsonian. A site that covers vast amounts of articles related to science, history and technology; well there’s just about everything you can think of. There are sections for games, arts and culture, photos, videos etc. Recent articles include ‘The accidental Invention of bubble wrap’, ‘Do animals hate the bitter cold of winter’, and ‘The complicated calculus of counting penguins’. I love reading stuff like this, do you? http://smithsonian.com
7..This is why I’m broke. Sometimes you want to buy a gift for someone that’s quirky and a bit different from the norm. I’ve haven’t bought anything from it yet but the gift ideas are so good to look at, even if a little strange at times. It’s such a good website to pass the time. You can buy a plastic pimple popper, it’s grim! And then there’s the extortionately priced items, which are well out of my reach; but they are fun to read. http://thisiswhyimbroke.com
8..Oddee. This website brings you unique articles that are odd and a bit strange, but not necessarily; it just depends on how you look at it. ‘Which M & M flavour is the strangest?’, ‘The weirdest places on earth’, and ‘Some strange animals we now call pets’. http://oddee.com
9..GIPHY..Holds the most gifs that you can use in which to express yourself. There’s one for just about anything you type in and look for. Great for twitter users and bloggers. http://giphy.com
10..Radioooo.. The music time machine. I know I said at the beginning that I’m listing these in no particular order, but I have to retract that comment, because upon much reflection, I have decided that this is my favourite one at the moment. You can click on any country and decade, going back to 1900-Really!! through to now, and a song will pop up from that period of time. It’s just brilliant, I must say. If you don’t care for any of the others then please take a look at this one at least. http://radiooooo.com

Another incredible posting with astounding articles provided at this website through the contributor.
I had most certainly be a substantial lover of this particular article writer out of this moment
in time ahead, and there’s not a thing that should switch that in the near future.
