Christmas Decorations for Kids

I made cute Rudolf and Christmas tree decorations last year with the Nursery Children I was working with and took a photograph.  I’ve also included a photograph of the craft stuff you’ll need as Christmas is on its merry way and young children will love making them with you. They are really easy to put together and will look great hanging on your Christmas tree.

Stuff you’ll need:

(All of these bits can generally be bought in pound shops so that you’ll not have to spend too much)

Pom Pom’s, coloured and plain lollypop sticks, mini plastic jewels, glitter, shiny ribbon, craft glue, pipe cleaners and googly eyes.

Method for Rudolf:

Glue together 3 plain lollypop sticks into a triangle and let them dry. Use a pipe cleaner and twist around the top of the triangle and shape and cut to create the antlers. Next, glue a pipe cleaner to the back of the antlers for the hanging loop. Now cut out a piece of triangular brown paper of about the same size and stick to the back. Patience has to come into play here and you must let the glue dry for 10 or 15 minutes because if you pick it up too soon, it will all fall to bits and you’ll be very upset. This happened to me because I am incredibly impatient. Pick up two googly eyes and stick them onto the middle of the decoration and pop his big red nose on at the end. Voila!

It is an absolute necessity to sing ‘Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer’ when making these. In fact, you will not be able to stop yourself!

Method for Xmas Tree:

Initially, this is the same method as before when you made Rudolf. Get 3 lollypop sticks, any colour you like and glue into a triangle. Now add some plastic jewels and dab glue onto the edges and add glitter. Add the shiny ribbon at the end to hang on to your tree.

It is an absolute necessity to sing ‘ Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree’ whilst making these as well.

I think they are very cute and will look gorgeous placed your tree. x
