Dauphinoise Potatoes/Vegetarian

Facebook0Tweet0Pin0

Ingredients

  • 5 medium sized potatoes
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 500 ml of double cream
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Mixed Herbs

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180c

  2. Slice the potatoes quite thin and place in a saucepan of water.

  3. Boil the potatoes for a few minutes to soften, then drain, season and add mixed herbs, (This recipe is quite versatile as you can add mushrooms, ham or crispy bacon at this stage).

  4. Lay the sliced potatoes into a dish and pour over the cream which should come just below the surface. Add a little more if you fancy.

  5. Place in the oven for about 1 hour.

  6. When just about ready, add some grated cheese if you like and return for another few minutes.

This is great served as a side dish or on its own for supper.
