My Diary

Diary Entry – 15/01/2017

Edinburgh

Hard to believe, but I had a lovely conversation on the telephone this morning with the Call Centre guy from ‘SKY’. The purpose of the call was pretty trivial, but we had a little discussion at the end about Scotland, where the call centre is based. I’ve always wanted to visit Scotland but never have, and he gave me some great information about where to go and what to do. You can’t beat asking a person that actually lives there!

Loch Lomond

Apparently, the best times to visit are in July and September as the weather is still warm, but it’s less busy. Glasgow and Edinburgh are the best places to visit if you enjoy culture and history, with the latter actually being best visited in August as they have the Edinburgh Fringe festival. If you love the countryside, the place to visit is ‘Loch Lomond’. Further north, the cities are Aberdeen  and Dunfermline. He recommended a quaint little countryside retreat outside ‘Fife’ called ‘Yellowscott Country Park’ where you can hire a lodge, and lounge in a Jacuzzi amidst some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. It does have excellent reviews. I think my first port of call will definitely be Edinburgh, though.

I need to start saving!
