Paris Cafe in Watercolour

I really admire and like the style of some artists that paint buildings in pen and ink and then add simple washes of watercolour. If you visit ‘Pinterest’ and type in buildings in mixed media, you can find many of them painted by different artists. The historic buildings are particularly attractive I find.

Here is my first effort. I think it’s ok, but there are certain areas I am not happy with. I think the pen and ink are too messy for the building to be honest, so I will have to work on that. Also, someone I know took the piss out of the trees, but I can’t abide insulting critics so I’ll ignore the comment. Healthy criticism is good, however! x

PS… Marks out of 10. I’ll give it a 4! And that’s me being generous with myself.

PPS…And for the critics. ‘I may not be there yet, but I’m closer than I was yesterday’. How far have you come?
